Truth and Reconciliation Summit

Passion Talks invites you to participate in a Truth and Reconciliation Summit on the morning of Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Crossroads Community Church, 2490 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, CA.

At Passion Talks 2017, Nicole Dickens shared on the disturbing history of racism in the American Church. She explored the roots of why  “the most segregated hour of Christian America is 11 o’clock on Sunday morning,” almost 60 years after Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. first coined the phrase. One week later,  the tragic events of Charlottesville reminded us how America is still deeply divided along racial, political, economic and social lines.

We believe the power of the Cross and the Gospel of the Kingdom can overcome what divides us.  Our goal is to commit to and practice reconciliation with all parts of Christ’s Body. Through humble dialogue we intend to:
  • Identify blind spots, thought patterns and deeply held beliefs that undermine our unity
  • Brainstorm practical solutions we can start implementing right away
  • Celebrate our unity in Christ with a Love Feast
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with registration and worship opening at 8 a.m. Tickets cost $25 each which includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
